Netflix is reportedly planning a global concert tour for their most streamed original movie, KPop Demon Hunters.
The animated movie quickly became a global phenomenon after it was released in June last year. Continuing its record-breaking run, this global phenomenon has swept the awards circuit, clinching two Oscars and a Grammy to add to its record-breaking statistics.
What we know about the potential KPop Demon Hunters global concert tour
EJAE, Rei Ami, and Audrey Nun, the singing voices of the fictional girl group HUNTR/X, have made appearances and performed on some of the most popular stages in the world. And now, rumours are swirling that the streaming giant is negotiating with concert promoters to stage a live show featuring performances of the movie’s chartbuster soundtrack. According to reports, Netflix is planning to take the stage next year, ahead of the release of the highly anticipated KPDH sequel.
Insiders have shared with Bloomberg that the parties have discussed a global tour that would stop in numerous major cities, with performances held in facilities that can accommodate 10,000 to 20,000 spectators at a time. But if Netflix fails to decide on the tour’s artistic prospects, or if it turns out to be too expensive, they might just scrap the idea.
The movie features two fictional groups HUNTR/X and Saja Boys. However, it is currently unclear as to who could be performing in the tour. Netflix is supposedly considering bringing the HUNTR/X trio on tour, but they are also playing with the idea of virtual performances or holograms, so they don’t have to play live at every stop.
From toy makers to music booking agents, everyone is doing the most in capitilising on the film’s incredible success. Apparently, the talent agency WME is also toying with the idea of a tour with the three singers. However, if Netflix is not included in their plans, WME will not be able to mention the movie’s name whatsoever, owing to copyright permissions.
The soundtrack is a key factor to the film’s massive success. Two of the songs from the album have topped the Billboard charts and according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, it was the third best-selling album in the world of 2025. From the Academy Awards to the Grammys, the lead single “Golden” has also bagged every major award possible, making it one of the top hits that has commanded the year in music.
