The world of the Upside Down is expanding as Netflix officially announced "Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure."
The prequel series will take place in Marion, Nevada, during the 1950s, before the events of "Stranger Things." It will introduce new characters, themes and mythology while exploring the far reaches of the Upside Down and Dimension X. The series will also address some loose ends from the original show.
The spin-off has been several years in the making, with creators Matt and Ross Duffer revealing that they had conceived the idea following the release of "Stranger Things" Season 4 in the summer of 2022.
"Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure" is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in 2028.
