Netizens & Tourists From China Are Calling This M’sian Panda Keeper At Zoo Negara Nanny Daddy

Based on what’s been trending, a Panda-keeper at the zoo.

Akmal Hadi Samsuddin is a panda keeper at zoo negara, and he’s been trending in China.

As a matter of fact, netizens have been calling him ‘nai pa’ or nanny daddy. Many Chinese tourists who come to the zoo greet him as such, asking for a picture.

“Thank you for taking care of the pandas, for giving your whole heart and being very responsible for our pandas”, say Chinese tourists.

He looks after two pandas by the name or Fu Wa and Feng Yi. Playing nanny to both, he feeds them, cleans them/after them, and keeps them entertained. He also harvests fresh bamboo for them thrice a week.

“We care for them 100% and from our heart. Whatever they need, we give it to them”, said Akmal.

This includes providing a proper, comfortable home for them to breed. In 6 years, the pair has produced 3 baby pandas—(All 3 baby pandas are now back in China).

Both the pandas came to Malaysia 10 years ago in 2014. Thanks to the friendly relationship between Malaysia and China, they were loaned to the country. China even called Malaysia one of the best zookeepers for big pandas.

Pandas are very sensitive creatures according to Akmal, so they have to be properly taken care of. Every month, Akmal and his team send reports to China of the pandas health.

Akmal also noted that before the pandas came to Malaysia, he following a group, went to Chengdu, China, for a training session. They were there for a month.
