Kota Kinabalu: Complaints on water supply disruptions in Sembulan, Tanjung Aru, Kepayan, Petagas and areas in the city proper are never ending, said Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
Its Complaints Bureau Chief Eric Lau Kah Hon said he continued to receive complaints from the affected residents in those areas the past four months.
“Water disruption has been an ongoing issue for years and the Sabah Water Department has yet to find a concrete solution to the problem,” he said.
He said occupants in high-rise condominiums and apartments are facing an even more severe problem when it comes to supply of the precious liquid.
According to Eric, it was disappointing that the department concerned has yet to come up with an effective solution to resolve the plight of the people in those areas.
He called on Deputy Chief Minister cum Sabah Works Minister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin to look into solving the issue.
“The Minister had recently stated that there were hundreds of technical experts under the Ministry to address the problem... I hope this is not merely sweet talk to appease the public,” he said, adding government officers should look into public complaints seriously and those who adopt lackadaisical work attitude should not be retained in the civil service.
