Healthcare technology company InstaMed Corp. officially launched InstaMedico, an AI-powered healthcare platform designed to connect patients, doctors, pharmacies and healthcare institutions through a single digital ecosystem aimed at improving access to medical services across the country.
The grand launch, held May 29 in Bonifacio Global City, gathered healthcare professionals, business leaders, investors and technology advocates as the company introduced a foundational healthcare infrastructure platform built for the Philippine healthcare system.
Leading the launch was Daniel Ceballos, founder and chief executive officer of InstaMed Corp, who presented InstaMedico as a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem rather than a standalone telemedicine application.
"Healthcare doesn't need another app. It needs a system. InstaMedico is launching a promise that healthcare in this country is never going to be the same,” Ceballos said in his speech.
According to Ceballos, the idea for InstaMedico was born from a deeply personal experience involving a loved one's struggle to access medical care outside major urban centers.
He said the experience highlighted a recurring problem faced by many Filipinos, particularly those living in remote and underserved communities where access to physicians, specialists and medicines remains limited.
"InstaMedico was built from frustration, empathy and the conviction that quality healthcare is not a privilege for the few. It is a right for every Filipino," he said.
Ceballos pointed to the country's healthcare workforce shortage as one of the reasons the company decided to invest in digital healthcare infrastructure.
"Here in the Philippines, there is one doctor for every 33,000 Filipinos. That's not a healthcare system. That's a healthcare crisis, and we are here to do something about it.”
The platform integrates teleconsultation services, pharmacy access, prescription fulfillment, patient records management, provider scheduling and AI-assisted operational tools into a single system designed for healthcare providers, clinics, hospitals and partner organizations.
Ceballos added that the platform's artificial intelligence capabilities are intended to reduce administrative workloads, improve patient intake processes, enhance scheduling accuracy and support healthcare operations through data-driven insights. Clinical decisions, however, remain solely in the hands of licensed medical professionals.
"We are don't do just a video call with a doctor. We are an intelligent ecosystem built for the Philippine reality. We don't just connect people. We connect them intelligently.”
He also shared that InstaMedico uses intelligent patient-provider matching, AI-assisted triage, workflow automation and integrated pharmacy services to improve healthcare delivery while maintaining the clinical authority of licensed healthcare practitioners.
The launch program featured several distinguished guest speakers from the healthcare and professional sectors, including occupational safety and health physician Dr. Eric Dacanay; pharmaceutical industry leader Winnie Castello, chairman of the board of directors of Philippine Pharma Procurement, Inc.; clinical psychologist, professor and author Dr. Margie Holmes; and pathologist and cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Imee Rajagukguk.
The speakers discussed the growing role of digital innovation, artificial intelligence and healthcare accessibility in addressing persistent challenges facing the Philippine healthcare system.
Meanwhile, beyond telemedicine, InstaMed Corp outlined plans to develop a broader healthcare ecosystem that includes pharmacy and pharmaceutical logistics, enterprise healthcare solutions, HMO integrations, healthcare operations management and AI-driven support systems.
Ceballos said the platform is designed to function as digital healthcare infrastructure capable of scaling from individual practitioners to large healthcare networks without requiring major system redesigns.
The company also announced plans to expand partnerships with hospitals, health maintenance organizations, local government units and corporate healthcare programs over the next 15 months as part of its nationwide growth strategy.
"This is just the beginning. We are building partnerships with hospitals, HMOs, LGUs and corporate health programs to make InstaMedico the standard of digital healthcare in this country.”
Among the future enhancements being developed are predictive health analytics, automated follow-up care systems, expanded mental health services and deeper integration between healthcare providers and pharmacy networks.
Ceballos said the long-term goal is to create a connected healthcare ecosystem that reduces fragmentation and improves healthcare access for Filipinos regardless of geography or economic status.
"We are building this for every Filipino who has ever been told that quality healthcare is out of reach. We are here to say it is possible, and now there is a platform that proves it," Ceballos concluded.
