New Ajax coach Alfred Schreuder says he's hoping to build on the success of Erik ten Hag.

Schreuder has joined Ajax to replace Ten Hag after his move to Manchester United.

"There is a good structure and way of working here at Ajax," says Schreuder. "We want to continue the broad outline of the past four and a half years, but I may put different accents than Erik ten Hag. That makes sense, and as a trainer you should also do what you feel comfortable with."

Schreuder knows the differences between his own working method and that of his predecessor.

"For example, I am used to having long discussions in the beginning about my desired way of playing. But when it goes on, my discussions will be shorter. With Erik, all discussions were long, and more trainers do that. Good or bad, it suits the trainer. It can be different for me."
