KOTA KINABALU: Kota Kinabalu police force has added more vroom power to enhance community engagement and reduce neighbourhood crime with the launch of its Amanita motorcycle patrol unit.

Kota Kinabalu Police Chief ACP Kasim Muda said at the launch event in Gaya Street on Sunday that the specialised unit, comprising female police officers on motorcycles, aims to increase police presence in areas with high female populations.

"Their high visibility patrols will not only boost public reassurance but also facilitate engagement on crime prevention strategies," he said.
