Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Head of State Tun Musa Aman received a courtesy visit from 24th Malaysian Armed Forces Chief, General Datuk Malek Razak Sulaiman, at Istana Seri Kinabalu, here, Thursday.
Malek said the visit was aimed at introducing himself as well as sharing the current developments of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and efforts to strengthen the role of the nation’s security forces.
He also briefed Musa on the measures taken to uphold ATM as a respected and trusted entity.
“ATM focuses on security, especially in Sabah, due to its unique geographical location, bordering several countries by land, sea and air.
“With the presence of ATM on land, at sea and in the air, along with cooperation from various agencies, including the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom), we can ensure that Sabah’s security remains safeguarded and peaceful,” he said.
He assured that ATM will continue to conduct analyses and improvements from time to time to ensure the country’s security is always at its best.
Malek was appointed as ATM Chief on Feb 1, replacing Tan Sri Mohd Nizam Jaffar, who retired on Dec 27 last year.
