Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic is wanted by Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich.
The German coach has taken charge of the Bavarian club, replacing Julian Nagelsmann.
Having already secured his coaching staff, Tuchel is turning his eye towards the summer transfer window.
The Evening Standard report Tuchel, who had a great spell at Chelsea that included winning the Champions League, wants to reunite with Kovacic.
The central midfielder is out of contract in 16 months, which means Chelsea may sell him in the summer to recoup some fee.
Blues coach Anthony Barry is also the subject of Bayern interest.
