
LAHAD DATU: The Unity Government will continue to enhance the welfare of officers and members of Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) so that their work environment would be more conducive, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
He said Esscom officers and personnel have a huge responsibility in maintaining peace and security and thus ensuring the livelihood of the people in the region.
“Today I attended the handing over of keys to Esscom personnel who are now residing in new and more comfortable houses,” he told reporters after the key hand over ceremony to Esscom officers and personnel who have families.
According to Saifuddin, the first phase of the settlement involved the purchase of 60 units of houses at Taman Palm Garden here with an allocation of RM40 million which was approved on July 15.
