Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar will significantly shift the current way of fighting corruption. He will be a potential game changer that could revitalise the Malaysian economy.
Malaysia’s lucky stars will change with the installation of Sultan Ibrahim as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on 31st January this year.
"From my great-grandfather, we were great hunters. I make sure when I go hunting, I bring back nice returns. But when I'm in Kuala Lumpur, it's a concrete jungle, so what do I hunt? I'm going to hunt all the corrupt people. I make sure I bring results," he said in an interview last year.
His Majesty has vowed to eradicate corruption in Malaysia as one of his key priorities and ensure unity in the country. These are his most significant challenges as the new King.
At the same time, His Majesty emphasised that a stable government must have consistent, sustainable policies to improve the country's economy.
"The main reason for the country's political instability is triggered by 'saboteurs' or certain groups who lost in the general elections. Many contributed hundreds of millions before the elections.”
His Majesty King Sultan Ibrahim has transcended his role as a model ruler of a State and to be the next King of Malaysia.
One of his priorities is to unify our multicultural communities and be the catalyst that brings Malaysians together as one nation. His greatest strength lies in his compassionate nature, which has fostered meaningful engagements between the people and the monarchy and bolstered the unity of all states in the country, including Sabah and Sarawak.
The new King’s arrival at Istana Negara will be a refreshing leadership renewal. It celebrates and restores the nation’s glory with the appointment of the King as the country faces a brave new Malaysia, bracing for a better tomorrow.
Indeed, the King’s ascension to the throne on 31st January 2024 will herald a new landscape – economic, social and political – for the Rakyat in Malaysia.
Apart from His Majesty’s charismatic trait of kindness and generosity, the Johor royal family, particularly Sultan Ibrahim, always have the interests of the Rakyat at heart.
Embracing diversity and respecting every culture and creed, Sultan Ibrahim and the current King Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah have brought all Malaysians of different ethnic origins under one roof. They both have moulded Malaysian society as an amalgamation of many characteristics, making it unique, vibrant and dynamic.
His Royal Highness, as the Sultan of Johor, decreed that in pursuing Johor’s prosperity and well-being, the Mentri Besar and executive council members should unwaveringly uphold the trust and mandate bestowed on them and not disappoint the people.
In the next five years, Sultan Ibrahim will shoulder a heavy responsibility as he seeks to gain fundamental insights into Malaysia's problems. He is determined that no state or individual should be left behind.
Malaysians recognise the forthcoming King's profound impact on our people's well-being and the strength of our economy with PMX Anwar Ibrahim.
The synergistic partnership of both the King and PMX Anwar Ibrahim will return the country to long-term prosperity and resilience. Malaysia Madani exemplifies their commitment to action, collaboration and collective effort. Its emphasis is on sustainability, prosperity, innovation, respect, trust and compassion.
The Government alone cannot achieve the goals we have set. It takes this symbiotic partnership between the King and PM to unlock the full potential of our nation’s resources, expertise and innovation. The private sector’s drive and innovation will be instrumental in mobilising public support to mitigate climate change and driving widespread adoption of sustainable actions among the people.
His Majesty will take Malaysia to the corridors of world leaders as he acts on resolving several issues confronting the nation. Together, let us support our new King and PM to create a legacy of progress, prosperity and compassion that will present a bright, vibrant and resourceful society.
As united Malaysians, we must have faith that things will improve by installing a new King. Let’s celebrate the new King’s role in leading Malaysians' courage, hope, dreams and dignity – to create a brave, new, and united Malaysia.
