KTMB implements a new KTM Komuter timetable from Jan 1, adjusting frequencies and ending some shuttle bus services as KVDT2 works progress

KUALA LUMPUR: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) will implement a new timetable for KTM Komuter Klang Valley services effective January 1.

The change aligns with progress under the Klang Valley Double Track Phase II (KVDT2) project.

The new schedule applies to the Tanjung Malim–Pelabuhan Klang and Pulau Sebang–Batu Caves routes.

KTMB stated the adjustment is part of service enhancement efforts as track upgrading works deliver more stable operational capacity.

“These changes are expected to improve train journey smoothness, optimise movements along the affected routes and support the provision of more consistent services for users,” the statement read.

With the new timetable, shuttle bus services for the Subang Jaya–Pelabuhan Klang route and at affected intermediate stations will be discontinued.

To meet peak-hour demand, trains will operate at 30-minute intervals on the Pelabuhan Klang–Kuala Lumpur and Tanjung Malim–Kuala Lumpur routes.

Two morning services from Tanjung Malim to Pelabuhan Klang and one service to Shah Alam will be introduced.

Maintenance works and track closures will continue daily from 11 am to 3 pm, suspending all passenger services on the Pelabuhan Klang–KL Sentral route.

The Pulau Sebang–Batu Caves route will maintain 30-minute frequencies during morning and evening peak periods.

During the transition, train operations in the Pelabuhan Klang sector will use a single track between Abdullah Hukum and Pelabuhan Klang stations.

Comprehensive KVDT2 upgrading works are expected to be fully completed in 2029.

The new timetable is accessible via the KITS STYLE application or KTMB’s official website. – Bernama
