"The Kuala Kubu Baharu By-election (PRK) poses a significant test for the Selangor State Government," remarked Pang Sock Tao, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate, underlining the pressure to maintain control over the Kuala Kubu Baharu State Legislative Assembly.
"We need to assess the performance of the Selangor Government, which has thus far been commendable. This administration has been a primary contributor to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP)," he articulated during an interview at Restoran Rasa 22, here tonight.
These remarks came in response to assertions made by the Chairman of the National Alliance (PN), Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who characterized the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election as a gauge of public sentiment toward the government.
Pang Sock Tao faces opposition from three other contenders in this by-election (PRK): Perikatan Nasional candidate, Khairul Azhari Saut; Parti Rakyat Malaysia candidate, Hafizah Zainudin; and Independent candidate, Nyau Ke Xin.
Expanding on his perspective, Sock Tao emphasized the diverse and comprehensive range of initiatives provided by the Selangor government.
"The state's investment initiatives witness steady growth annually. This election serves as an opportunity for us to evaluate the exceptional performance of the Selangor government," he elaborated.
Steps to Be Taken by the Selangor Government
To ensure a smooth electoral process, the Selangor Government should take several proactive steps:
Voter Education Campaigns: Launch comprehensive voter education campaigns to inform citizens about their rights and responsibilities, as well as the importance of participating in the electoral process. Educated voters are more likely to make informed choices and contribute to a smooth election.
