New Match of the Day host Kelly Cates says society still not fully comfortable with female sport presenters.
The 49-year-old, who is also a Sky Sports presenter, was announced as a joint replacement for Gary Lineker today (15 January) alongside Gabby Logan and Mark Chapman.
Cates, who is the daughter of former Scotland and Liverpool footballer Sir Kenny Dalglish and also hosts BBC Radio 5 Live’s Tuesday night sports coverage, recently appeared on the The Overlap’s Not Just Football podcast, where she spoke about the difficulties female presenters face in the industry today.
