Changan Mazda has officially unveiled the new Mazda EZ-60, a sleek electric crossover designed specifically for the Chinese market. Positioned as the SUV counterpart to the Mazda EZ-6 sedan, the EZ-60 sets its sights on competitors like the Tesla Model Y in the growing electric SUV segment.

Just like the Mazda EX-6, the EZ-60 shares the same EPA1 platform developed by Changan, which also underpins the Deepal S07. While Mazda has yet to release official performance figures for the EZ-60, we can turn to the Deepal S07 for a rough idea of what to expect.
The Deepal S07 offers two BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) configurations:
68.8 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery with a 520 km range
180 kWh NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) battery with a 628 km range
Both versions are powered by a single rear-mounted electric motor, delivering either 215 hp or 255 hp, depending on the configuration.
Additionally, the Deepal S07 is available as a REEV (Range Extender Electric Vehicle) variant, equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated generator producing 97 hp, paired with either a 31.7 kWh or 39 kWh battery. Combined output for these variants is 235 hp or 255 hp, offering a flexible solution for range-conscious drivers.
Mazda has yet to reveal interior images of the EZ-60. However, given the EZ-6’s close resemblance to its Deepal counterpart in terms of cabin design and layout, it’s reasonable to expect that the EZ-60 will follow a similar blueprint to the Deepal S07’s interior.
In international markets, the Mazda EZ-6 is branded as the Mazda 6e, suggesting that the EZ-60 may also undergo a name change for its global debut. More details, including global market plans and final specifications, will likely be revealed at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 23rd, where the EZ-60 is scheduled to make its international debut.
