Kota Kinabalu: The series of new measures taken by the new Anwar-led Federal Government to avoid wastage of public funds certainly deserved praised and will be even more effective if junkets disguised as trade and other missions undertaken by some ministries were reduced to absolutely necessary level.
Activist Lau Seng Kiat said extravagant expeditions cost of bundle and were doubtful if effective.
“We have read trade and other missions overseas with a large entourage led by a minister, including their wives, and upon return announcing numerous agreements and deals signed but nothing really happens after that.
