Manchester United's new ownership may not be in place until the start of the new season.

The Red Devils are in the process of being sold by the Glazer family at present.

As the Raine Group works through the various bids, Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS and the Qatari royal family are the two primary bidders.

Per The Mail and other sources, no preferred bidder has been chosen as yet.

The Glazers have not made a final decision, and even if they do decide in the coming days, the approval process could take several months.

United fans were hoping a new owner would be in place for the transfer window this summer.
