THE National Police Commission (Napolcom) announced Wednesday the designation of Col. Marlon Santos as acting spokesman of Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
Nartatez also serves as Ex-Officio Commissioner of the Napolcom.
Santos holds the rank of Senior Police Assistant to the Ex-Officio Commissioner.
Santos previously served as Provincial Director of the Cavite Provincial Police Office and Regional Chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group’s Regional Field Units 4A and 7.
Napolcom Commissioner Rafael Vicente Calinisan expressed confidence that Santos would be instrumental in strengthening public trust in the police organization through credible and people-centered communication.
“Colonel Santos has been instrumental in advancing reforms and strengthening the relationship between Napolcom and the PNP. I believe he will bring to his new role the integrity, professionalism, and dedication to public service that are needed to bring the police force closer to the people,” Calinisan said.
Santos thanked the PNP and the Napolcom for the trust and opportunity given to him, reaffirming his commitment to uphold responsive and people-centered public service.
“Rest assured that we will do our job well and continue to provide fast, honest, and compassionate service to our countrymen,” he said.
