New Proton X70 On Fire At Puspakom Inspection

This images of a brand new Proton X70 on fire has been shared on social media and we are still waiting for Proton and Geely to issue a statement why it happened

Lucky no one was injured in this vehicle fire incident and looks like the fire was contained very quickly. With the recent X90 fire, Proton and Geely responded within days with a statement why it happened and a recall was issued for all X90 units in Malaysia.

This shows responsibility and quick action from Proton to address this issue. Like the Takata airbag issue years ago, manufacturers using Takata airbags scrambled to replace the airbags and till today this is ongoing in Malaysia and also around the world.

With this X70 fire, it could be a sub-standard part from a vendor and not the vehicle issue as this is a local assembled Proton.
