RANAU: Deputy Chief Minister II, Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam, inaugurated the new 90m suspension bridge across the Mokodou River in Kampung Takutan, recently.

When met by the media, the Kundasang Assemblyman said the new suspension bridge was fully completed in October last year and now, villagers can use it for agricultural activities.

“The suspension bridge was cut off in 2022 as a result of a major flood that occurred at the time,” he said.

Also present at the opening ceremony was the Political Secretary to Dr Joachim, Yubidi Gompoyo, Community Development Leader (PPM), Dounis Sani, Village Head Erin Laug, JKKK chairman Parvine Yudin and the staff of the Community Development Leaders Unit (UPPM) Kundasang.

Earlier, Dr Joachim attended a meeting of the Parti Bersatu Sabah Branch (PBS) Kg Takutan attended by 61 members and observers.
