Kota Kinabalu: Rhinos supporters will not be able to see newly-signed import players Miguel Angel Garrido Cifuentes and Ramon Machado de Macedo in action for Sabah FC against Kuching City FC in the Super League tie at Likas Stadium this afternoon (Saturday).
According to head coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee, Miguel from Spain and Brazilian Ramon are still subject to their ITC (International Transfer Certificate) approval and he will only select the players currently on the team.
He agreed that to start the two in the match today may help Sabah FC to achieve victory but he much preferred them to gain more time to get accustomed to the team’s style of play before taking to the pitch competitively.
“We need to give some time to Cifu (Miguel) and Ramon in getting used to our tactical pattern as they have just joined us, whereas the other players have already been playing with the team since the start,” he said on Friday.

“We want to achieve positive results in every match from now on starting with the match against Kuching City FC tomorrow afternoon. It’s only wise for us to focus on the game in hand to achieve the objective rather than thinking about the following matches,” he added.
Meanwhile, the match today is the second meeting for both sides this season after Sabah FC came up on top in the 2-1 win in Kuching in the first round tie with the two goals scored by Saddil Ramdani and Telmo Ferreira.
