Another one?!

A one-meter deep sinkhole has emerged near the Bunga Raya Complex at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), as confirmed by the Works Ministry in a Facebook post today.

The sinkhole appeared near the FT26 route at the entrance of the complex. Although nearby roads remain open, the area around the sinkhole has been closed for safety reasons.

"An inspection revealed a sewage manhole belonging to KLIA near the sinkhole. It is suspected that a sewage pipe leak may have caused the sinkhole," the post stated.

The incident has been reported to Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), and a traffic management plan at the site has been implemented.

"A detailed report will be issued by MAHB following the investigation, and the Public Works Department will assist if needed. However, the exact cause of the sinkhole is still under investigation," the post added.
