- Representing Arbroath and Broughty Ferry, Ms Bird stated she took the oath only to serve her constituents.
- She declared that her first allegiance is, and always will be, to the sovereign people of Scotland.
- Ms Bird secured her seat in a by-election last Thursday, winning with a majority of over 5,000 votes against the Conservatives.
- She later reiterated on X that it is a privilege to serve and represent her communities as their Member of Parliament.
