Newcastle boss Eddie Howe says their US preseason games will be tough.
However, he insists the trip is good for the club.
Howe said, "We trained early and late. "We have three tough games, it probably comes a week early for us - we would ideally like it a week later.
"But this is a really tough examination for us. It will stand us in good stead for the season ahead.
"With European games, the high level of games here will put us in good shape to face Aston Villa in our opening game.
"I think these trips are a benefit because it gets our name out to different parts of the world. "We are proud to represent the club and meet our supporters."
