Newcastle boss Eddie Howe insists Dan Burn has a big role in the team's future.
Burn has had to run the boo-boys gauntlet this season.
But Howe said today: "I liked a lot about his performance against Everton. Aerially he's a big presence but he did well against two tough opponents at Everton. Dan's leadership is second to none and when he comes inside he can help the team vocally.
"It's always a balance really. You're looking at which player can fill which position. I always say 'the more versatile a player, the more valuable they are'
"Players like Dan, that can play different positions, are vital to us."
