Newcastle boss Eddie Howe had his players on the Parc des Princes pitch on Monday.
Newcastle meet PSG in their latest Champions League group tie on Tuesday night.
Howe, in previous games, opted to work at Benton for their final pre-match training session.
He explained: "Just a change of feel. A different routine. You never know how these things affect your performances. We're looking for an improvement which is why we've done what we've done today.
"Some players might want it or need it and prefer. It also gave the players more time with their families at home. It gave them time to pinch a few hours with family. We are trying something different this time."
