Newcastle United supporters have been eager to see summer arrival Lewis Hall in action.

The left-back has not gotten the game time that fans were expecting since he joined from Chelsea in an initial loan that will be made permanent this summer.

However, they got a glimpse of the 19-year-old in their FA Cup quarter final loss to Manchester City.

He used the ball really well, I think he gave us some renewed energy," Newcastle boss Eddie Howe told the BBC at full-time of Hall.

I was pleased with his performance when he came in, this is always a difficult game to come into when you're losing and chasing the game.

It's sometimes a difficult balance to get the want to attack when you have to defend but I thought he did really well."
