Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe insists goalkeeper Nick Pope is good enough to be England's No1.
Howe is sure that Pope is not satisfied as a backup to Everton's Jordan Pickford in the England squad.
"If he didn't believe it himself, I would ask him to revise his ambitions. He's close and he's close to playing time. At the moment, few stand before him," said Howe. "You have to really deliver if you want to play in the national team.
"With the start he has had with us, at least he has not moved further away from the national team."
