Newcastle boss Eddie Howe was taken aback by a question about Champions League qualification after victory over Aston Villa.
Howe felt his side showed what they can do for the 4-0 win.
He said: “That's the football and the style that we want to see on a consistent basis here. I stood back and enjoyed the second half. I thought we were really good."
When asked if Newcastle could make the Champions League, Howe said: “That's an outrageous question.
"We're just happy where we are. We're trying to win every game. I'll let you write the headlines."
