Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe admits Nick Pope may need an operation.
The England goalkeeper suffered a shoulder dislocation during victory over Manchester United.
Howe said: "It looks like a dislocation. He's been through it before, having surgery and coming back successfully. But I don't know what the future looks like for him.
"I don't know if he will have to undergo an operation or not, but we will have it checked and keep our fingers crossed that he will be back soon."
He added, "It will be a huge blow for us if he is out for a longer period of time."
