Newcastle boss Eddie Howe admitted relief after their 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.
An injury-time equaliser from Matt Ritchie earned Newcastle their point.
Howe said: "Mixed from us, a lot of good and some bad.
"A breathless second half, similar to Luton where to was end-to-end, entertaining for the neutral. We didn't do certain things well enough and conceded a couple of difficult goals but we recovered really well from those moments.
"It's a good point when you're losing so late but frustrating because I think the game was there to be won. We have the qualities to do so but they eluded us on the game.
"Both teams gave everything and with the goal coming so late with have to be pleased."
On Ritchie, he added: "Incredible professional, behind the scenes his attitude and commitment. He really is a role model here. He's an inspiring character and has given so much to the group. It is good for us all to enjoy his moment.
"It was a valuable goal for us and he's still got a lot of quality."
