Newcastle United's chief commercial officer Peter Silverstone admits it was awkward mixing with Tottenham chiefs during their famous 6-1 win.

Silverstone took in the game alongside Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and chief commercial officer Todd Kline.

"We mixed the tables, which is unusual in the chairman's suite, so I was sitting at a table with Todd and Daniel," he said at True Faith's end of season show. "I have a good relationship with Todd, but it was just embarrassing to go in there at half-time for both of us. I'm not revelling in there.

"I've never watched a game of football where it was more laughing than anything. Was this actually happening? I've been involved in a lot of friendly matches in my time and I don't think I've ever seen goals go in like that. The first 22 minutes of Spurs was fantastic."
