- Newcastle have completed the signing of Benfica right-back Amar Dedic in a deal worth around £30m.
- Dedic, who has signed the contract with Newcastle on his 24th birthday, becomes Matthias Jaissle’s first signing since he replaced Eddie Howe.
- He played for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the World Cup, with his team reaching the last-32 before being knocked out by the United States.
- Dedic is Newcastle’s sixth signing of the summer, with the team looking to rebuild after losing a number of key players including Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon.
- He could be thrown straight in for Newcastle’s first game against Liverpool on Sunday, with Tino Livramento still working his way back to full fitness after missing the World Cup.
