Newcastle United defender Sven Botman has paid tribute to Winston Bogarde.
The former Holland international worked as a defensive coach at Ajax when Botman was part of the youth team.
The Toon stopper recalled to Only the Best: "He had a completely different approach for all trainers.
"That brought me a lot. At that moment I thought: he kills me. At Ajax a lot is always expected of you, but he was really on a different level. He was very honest, perhaps too honest at times.
"That he said everything was bad. 'What are you doing?" he'd say. At some point you will realise that he is right. I also realised that I had to change something to take the next step."
