AC Milan great and former sporting director Paolo Maldini is under consideration at Newcastle United.
Newcastle are seeking a replacement for technical director Dan Ashworth, who is set to leave for Manchester United.
The Independent says there are two names in the sights of the Magpies. The first is Hugo Viana, architect of Sporting CP and a former Newcastle player, while the other is Milan legend Maldini .
The former Rossoneri captain was sacked in June 2023 by Milan owner Gerry Cardinale.
At Newcastle, Maldini would find again Sandro Tonali, who he signed for Milan from Brescia.
