Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope admits there was disappointment after their 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace.

Pope was a big influence on the point.

He later said, "It's not an easy place to come, but we have to back ourselves to take some chances. You can be happy with three-quarters of the pitch, but it's the opposition box where you should make it count.

"We're disappointed with today, but when we look back at the first half of the season we can be proud.

"We have to be hungry. We have to have that desire to keep pushing ourselves. That's going to be important going forward."

On his save, denying Jean-Philippe Mateta, Pope added: "I didn't see much of it but luckily I got something on it and managed to tip it over. I'm pleased with it. You train for those split-second moments."
