Newcastle hero Nobby Solano says he's taken the AFC Eskilstuna job inspired by former Chelsea manager Graham Potter.
Solano admits he had little knowledge of Swedish football before he taking over AFC.
"No, but when I heard about this, I spoke to the former AIK player, Andreas Andersson. We were teammates at Newcastle. Then I talked a lot with Olof Mellberg and Marcus Allbck, with whom I played at Aston Villa. Above all, Olof has experience in this division as well," he told Sportbladet.
"My wife is English and we moved with the family to England. So I looked in Europe. There are examples in England of fantastic coaches who have a background in Sweden (Graham Potter). Sweden is a good platform. I also get to keep my English in shape. I'm lucky that I still remember English, haha."
