Newcastle have made an offer for West Ham fullback Harrison Ashby.
Sky Sports says Newcastle are still looking to bring in cover for Kieran Trippier before the transfer window closes and are in negotiations with West Ham to sign Ashby.
Newcastle have had their opening bid rejected, but talks are still ongoing.
Ivan Fresneda has also been an option for Newcastle, but the Magpies are facing strong competition for his signature.
