Porto have rejected an offer from Newcastle United for winger Pepe.
Globoesporte says Newcastle tabled a bid of €35m for the attacking midfielder.
However, Porto are insisting Pepe will only leave for his €60m buyout clause.
Newcastle are expected to return with an improved proposal.
