Newcastle midfielder Harvey Barnes hopes Anthony Gordon's injury isn't serious.
The Toon winger suffered an ankle injury after their 4-4 draw with Luton.
Barnes said: "We hope that is precautionary. This season it seems we get one back and another one is out.
"We just need to keep as many to stay fit as possible."
Barnes has only just returned from long-term injury and added: "It's tough because you do see multiple people and you're not always going to get the answer you want to hear.
"Then it's down to the players and staff here to make our own decisions. We made the decision we wanted to do and it's paid off."
