Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes feels he is ready to be a leader for Brazil.
The all action central midfielder has been a revelation in the Premier League for the past 18 months.
Guimaraes, who was linked to clubs such as Chelsea and Liverpool this summer, has 13 Brazil caps so far.
He told UOL: I think I get a lot of call-ups, but not many minutes. I want to be more active in this cycle.
I've got good numbers in the national team, but the important thing is to make the team play.
"The midfielder is important, the fewer mistakes he makes the better the team play. That's fundamental to Diniz's [interim coach] style. I want to play more games in this cycle and I feel ready for the challenge."
