Newcastle pair Jacob Murphy and Joe Willock were delighted after victory over Tottenham.
Murphy struck in Newcastle's 6-1 rout of Spurs.
He said, "Amazing we started so well, an amazing day for us."
On his goal and his importance to the side, Murphy added: "I wasn't surprised, I was just happy to see it go in, when I struck it I knew it was a clean strike.
"It means everything, I always want to add value whether I'm starting or coming off on the bench, everyone wants to do it."
Fellow midfielder Joe Willock also said: "It's amazing, it's the best stadium in the world and we have the best fans in the world, it was a terrific performance.
On his impressive assist for Alexander Isak, he said: "It was a brilliant run, we were trying to build that connection in the team. We work on phases of play in training and that was one of them."
