Newcastle United are preparing a bid for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
The Georgia international is set to be sold by Los Che this summer.
The Times says Newcastle are keen to bring Mamardashvili to England to compete with Nick Pope for No1 status.
Mamardashvili is regarded as among the best keepers in LaLiga.
Valencia are seeking around 35m to sell the 23 year-old.
