Premier League giants Newcastle United are chasing highly-rated Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos.
The Magpies are working hard to establish their squad as one of the best in the league since their takeover by a Saudi Arabia-linked consortium.
Part of their work involves securing top young players, and Vasco de Gama's 18-year-old Santos is appealing to the club's scouts.
He has scored seven goals in 33 games for Vasco, with the Daily Mail confirming that a move is very much possible.
However, Newcastle may have a hard time securing a work permit for Santos, while they also have to consider Financial Fair Play regulations.
Australia forward Garang Kuol is another recent youth signing for Newcastle, as he is set to join in January from Central Coast Mariners.
