Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is tailor-made to help Anthony Gordon reach the next level.
That is the opinion of the new Magpie, who signed from Everton this week.
Gordon, a young winger with only seven senior goals to his name, refused to train in his final week at Everton to secure a move to Newcastle.
It feels like it's been in the works (the move) for a while," he told NUFC TV.
I know the club were interested in summer. l so I knew all this time they were interested in me.
Obviously, over the past week or so it has progressed quickly. It's been a whirlwind really (but) I couldn't be happier to be here. I was always convinced Newcastle were for me. The fan base in the city suits me as a person.
The way the team are playing under the gaffer suits me and they look like they're heading in the right direction. Under the gaffer, I think I can really excel while being here. People haven't seen what I'm capable of yet. It'll be exciting."
