- Botman had to be replaced in the second half at St James’ Park following the injury.
- Newcastle wrote on X on Monday afternoon that Botman has undergone “successful surgery” on the fracture and he is “not expected to be sidelined for an extended period”.
- The club added that Botman “hopes to be available again during the closing weeks of the season”.
- Newcastle are currently 12th in the Premier League table after Sunday’s loss, and have seven matches remaining this season.
