Newcastle United are said to be the favorites to finalise the 30 million signing of Kieran Tierney this summer.
The Arsenal full back is on the market after a season where he has been playing second fiddle to Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Given manager Mikel Arteta wants an inverted full back for the left back spot, Tierney is not in his plans for the future.
Aston Villa are also keen on the Scotland star, but according to The Times, Newcastle are in pole position.
The Magpies have the funds to complete the move, while they may even be able to offer Champions League football.
If Tierney arrives, then Matt Targett is almost certain to leave Newcastle, given he has only played 17 games this term.
