NFL fans were left stunned and confused after a bizarre AI-generated video appeared to show Mike Vrabel brutally releasing wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
The clip quickly spread across social media and sparked debate about how realistic artificial intelligence content is becoming.
However, the exchange shown in the video never actually happened.

AI video of Mike Vrabel releasing Stefon Diggs goes viral
Dov Kleiman shared the viral AI-generated clip that appears to show Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel informing Stefon Diggs that he has been cut.
In the video, an AI version of Vrabel delivers a harsh message to the receiver.
“Stefon, you’ve got too many baby mamas, you choked too many of your employees, and you’re a 32-year-old receiver who can’t catch passes in the playoffs. I gotta cut you.”
The clip then shows the AI version of Diggs responding.
“Coach, I’m the best receiver you’ve got.”
The moment ends with the AI Vrabel character throwing Diggs out of the office window, making it clear the entire sequence is meant as a parody rather than a real conversation.
In reality, Diggs was recently released by the New England Patriots, but his departure appeared respectful and mutual, with the receiver publicly thanking the organization following the decision.
NFL fans react to bizarre Mike Vrabel AI clip
The video quickly triggered reactions across social media as fans tried to process how convincing the footage looked.
One fan joked, “At this rate, AI is gonna start announcing trades before the teams do.” Another user immediately recognised what was happening, writing, “Lol this is so AI.”
Some viewers admitted the video still looked surprisingly convincing despite knowing it was fake.
“Looks super real,” one fan posted, while another added, “AI can appear real when you squint really, really hard.”
Not everyone was amused by the trend, though, with one frustrated commenter saying, “Take this down, this is lame.”
The clip highlights how quickly AI-generated sports content can spread online, even when the events shown never actually happened.
