IPOH, June 11 — The Local Government Development Ministry has approved an allocation of RM3.46 million for the Ipoh City Council (MBI) to upgrade and maintain facilities in areas under its jurisdiction.

Its minister, Nga Kor Ming, said the allocation will, among others, be used to upgrade the Kg Simee Market, Dataran Niaga Taman Cempaka, Lorong Isaac, and Jalan Sungai Pari in Buntong, as well as Jalan Persiaran Lapangan Siber 1, Bandar Seri Botani.

“The allocation will be immediately channelled to MBI,” he said after his official visit to Ipoh today. Also present was Ipoh mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin.

Nga said the allocation was a performance-based budget that was approved to ensure the comfort and well-being of the people.

He added that all upgrading works will begin next month and are expected to be completed by December this year. — Bernama
