Nga receives threats, police probing

PETALING JAYA: Police are investigating threats against housing and local government minister Nga Kor Ming after notes were found in front of his family home in Ayer Tawar, near Ipoh, Manjung police chief Nordin Abdullah said.

In a statement today, Nordin said police received a report at 10.15am from a 76-year-old woman who discovered numerous pieces of paper scattered in front of her house, inscribed with the message, “Nga Kor Ming jangan cabar Islam (Do not challenge Islam)”.

He said they were investigating the case for criminal intimidation through anonymous communication under Section 507 of the Penal Code.

Earlier today, Perak DAP said the notes were scattered on the grounds of the home of Nga’s mother.

Police advised the public to refrain from speculating on the matter as it could compromise the investigation.
